Firewater: Daily Detoxification and Breath of Fire

Firewater Detox Water

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 lemon juiced
1/2 grapefruit juiced
2 cups sparkling water (could use regular this just makes it delightful)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or as much as you can handle
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon turmeric root powder
1 teaspoon of manuka or raw honey (optional, I omitted because of sugars)
1 huge handful of mint
Ice
Shake it up shake it up! Yummmmm.

Low Carb Almond Joy Squares

Primal Almond Joy Bars

3/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup of crunchy almond butter
1/4 cup cacao powder
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of gelatin (optional)
1 tbsp of coconut sugar (optional, use sweetener of choice)
Melt everything over medium in a sauce pan, mix well and pour into silicone candy molds and freeze. You could also poor into cupcake liners and freeze as well!

Thin Mint Fat Bomb Shake

Thin Mint Paleo Protein Shake

1 cup of coffee brewed and chilled
1-2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
1/2 scoop of cacao @paleo_pro
1 tbsp coconut butter
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
A few twists of sea salt (makes it caramel-y and salt is good for #keto folk)
1 raw pastured raised egg yolk
5 ice cubes

Peanut Butter Bulletproof Coffee

(I know peanuts are banned under paleo, but a little here and there is fine.)
1 cup of coffee (chilled or hot I like it cold)
1 tbsp heavy whipping cream
1 raw pasture raised egg yolk
1 tbsp of coconut oil
1/2 scoop of @paleo_pro cacao
1 tbsp nut butter of choice, I used@pbpeanutbutter
1 tsp bee pollen (optional but so much energy!!!)
1 square of bakers chocolate
1 itty bitty drop of liquid stevia or sweetener of choice

Keto Bacon Strawberry Chocolate Chip Pancakes

🐷 2 tbsp flaxseed meal
🐷 2 eggs
🐷 2 tbsp sour cream (I like green valley organics the best)
🐷 1 strip of bacon already cooked and chopped up
🐷 1 tsp of #lilyschocolate dark chocolate chips (sweetened with stevia!)
💁🏼 All mixed up and fried in@ancientorganics ghee

Metabolic Mocha: Sip coffee. Burn fat.

You should know by now that I absolutely adore coffee.  My favorite coffee is made on a stovetop and blended with butter. But this is my afternoon perk me up that happens to also help you burn fat. Grass-fed whey, coffee, cayenne pepper and cinnamon are the four ingredients I would say have helped me with fat loss! (Alongside a low-carb high fat, clean eating diet that is.) So sip on this, because goddam it it’s 3 o’clock somewhere.

All of these ingredients help boost your metabolism, though I urge you not to abuse them, they can be helpful in fat loss and weight maintenance.

 The DEETS.

Coffee

  • Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, which sends direct signals to the fat cells to tell them to break down fat
  • Chlorogenic Acid – one of the biologically active compounds in coffee, may help slow absorption of carbohydrates 

Grass-fed whey – I insist high quality grass-fed is important in order to preserve the fragile amino acid precursors, and contains more nutrients to commercially raised cows

  • Whey Protein Is Rich in Leucine: Leucine plays a key role in protein synthesis, a process that burns through quite a few calories. In addition, it stimulates fatty acid oxidation.
  • Whey Satiates Your Appetite: Studies show that whey may satiate your appetite better than some other types of protein. Milk proteins contain glycomacropeptide – a peptide that stimulates the cholecystokinin (CCK). CCK is an intestinal hormone that is released after eating a meal and it signals satiety.
  • Studies Show Supplemental Whey Helps People Drop Body Fat: There are at least two studies where scientists examined whey protein supplementation and weight loss. In one study at the University of Oklahoma, scientists told both groups of participants not to change their diet. However, one group was given a nutrition supplement containing whey (300 calories, 40 grams of protein) once per day for two weeks and twice a day for the remaining eight weeks of the study. Both groups engaged in a supervised resistance and endurance-training program for 10 weeks.

Cayenne Pepper 

  • Cayenne pepper has been used medicinally for years to promote healthy digestion
  • Originally used by natives of Mexico and Africa this spicy pepper helps the body’s diet induced thermogenesis (HEATING YOUR BODY UP.
  • Studies on cayenne pepper also indicate that it aids in the increase of lipid oxidation = FAT LOSS

Cinnamon

  • Cinnamon is rich in manganese, iron, calcium and fiber. It has been used since medieval times to cure diarrhea, indigestion and bloating. In addition, it helps prevent the spread of cancer cells, the formation of stomach ulcers, and assists in curing bacterial infections.
  • Cinnamon lowers blood sugar levels along with bad cholesterol levels (LDL) while having no effect on the good cholesterol (HDL).

Did you know it is reallllyyyy difficult to find organic whey protein powder? Yeah it is, which is lame, and the few we’ve found pretty much suck a lot. This one is delish especially with good ingredients in your shake. Chocolate coconut ice cream wanna be protein shake anyone?

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds

  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flakes
  • 4-6 ice cubes
  • blend that ish up
